Being a part of the community means more than just having a local business and hiring employees from the community.  Being a part of the community means doing as much as possible to ensure that your community is taken care of beyond just the services a business may offer.   Here, at The Maids, we have worked hard to make sure we are doing just that.

Several years ago, we began collecting a portion of profits earned during the summer months to donate to local non-profits in the Tucson community.  These non-profits include:  The Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Hermitage Cat Shelter, Ben’s Bells, Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson, Youth on Their Own, American Cancer Society, Fisher House, the Community Food Bank, and Casa De Los Niño’s.

In 2009 we began participating in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.  This is a program through the American Cancer Society that raises funds for research in fighting breast cancer.  This has been very meaningful to our employees, our families, and our clients.  We have raised funds by holding car washes, rummage sales, bake sales, and raffle sales for free cleaning services.  Most of us have been affected by cancer in some way, and this program offers us a chance to make a difference and lend a hand.

One of the best services we offer is through Cleaning For A Reason.  This organization is amazing in what they do for women all over the country.   Cleaning For A Reason (C4R) is a non-profit organization that works with cleaning companies in providing free cleanings to women fighting cancer.   C4R works with doctors to verify that the women applying for the services are patients and then provide their contact information to participating cleaning companies within her community.

It is truly an honor to work with these amazing women, and really be able to help them while they fight against the horror that is cancer.  With this program, we are truly able to see the difference we make in someone’s day when she has one less thing to worry about.  She doesn’t have to worry about cleaning her home.  She can simply concentrate on her family and her healing.

We are grateful to the city of Tucson for allowing us to be a part of the community for all of these years.  We will always work hard to do our part, and we look forward to many more years of service to this community.
